Last night I attended a Chamber Trade Show in the San Fernando Valley. From the Business Owners and people in attendance it was very clear that everyone feels that the Recession is over.
People were happy. The event was marking the 100 year Kick-off for a Chamber in the Valley and it was very well attended. It had well over 400 people there not counting the vendors.
I felt confidence in the air from everyone. Vendors were discussing their businesses and how they could help one another, and networking was everywhere.
In California, unemployment is one of the highest in the country right behind Michigan. We all want to believe that the recession is over. Events like last night help all of us to renew our faith that it just might be. Knowing that we have faith in ourselves may just be what it takes to move California forward.
Chambers have traditionally set the mood for a community and shown that economic vitality is moving. From what I saw last night, I would say our economic vitality is back and all of us have nothing to worry about.
Now all we have to do is convince our legislators to learn how to handle our money, and the rest of the job will be done.
