Democracy Coming to the Middle East?

Egypt and Jordan  and many of the countries in the Middle East are now in major uprising against their “kings” who have ruled over them for years.

The people are demanding that these rulers step down and allow them to have a democracy.  Do they know what that is and can this happen?

I think we all would hope that it does happen, but we hold our breath wondering if it can happen without many losing their lives and what will take the place of what was the ruling party?  The unknown is never easy in life, and yet thousands are in the streets demanding democracy.

The United States and England has shown the world that democracy can work, even with all the problems that happen.  Many people want to live in a country with freedom of repression and freedom to vote for who they want to choose.

We may not always agree who is elected, but we all know that they will not be there forever, we just need to make it through until the next election.

I do hope Democracy comes to the Middle East and that Women have an equal say in their rights there as well.  It would be nice to have equal say for equal pay around the world.  This doesn’t exist yet, but what a nice thought.

We still see pay differences in the United States from men to women, but it is getting better.  At least women can work here and they don’t have to hide in the shadows as in other countries.
